Jennifer Lopez is officially leaving “American Idol.” The singer followed Steven Tyler’s lead on Friday, and announced her departure from the show. According to E! Online, producers are fighting hard for Miley Cyrus to replace her.
With two “American Idol” judges down, and Randy Jackson’s fate hanging in the balance, it’s said that execs are looking for some serious star power to sit at the judges panel for season 12. Besides Miley, names like Adam Lambert and Mariah Carey are also being tossed around.
Jennifer Lopez’s “American Idol” departure leaves the show without it’s biggest name. It seems that the show is going all out trying to snag Miley Cyrus, Mariah Carey, and Adam Lambert, which would shake up the balance of the panel with two females, and a former contestant.
Each would bring something different to the table. Miley has a huge fanbase, and a young perspective, Mariah is a seasoned vetern, and Adam is one of the best voices to ever grace the “Idol,” stage, and could look at the contestants, remembering how it feels to be up there.
